Motorola SEMV8 SmartStream Encryptor Modulator The Motorola SEMV8 is a versatile multi-use Edge QAM and IP/ASI Bridge device that can be used in any small to large Broadband / CATV digital headend. The SEMV8 provides for up to 8 multiplexes of processing functionality in a single RU package using 4 upconverters with 2 multiplexes each ( 8 QAM outputs total). The SEM performs multiplex creation with 8 ASI ports ( 4 ASI inputs, and 4 ASI ports that can be configured as inputs or outputs), 3 IP GigE bi-directional ports, encryption or non-encryption (in the clear) modes, 64/256QAM modulation, upconversion with versatile channel spacing (NTSC and PAL) tunable from 177MHz to 861MHz, GigE to ASI or ASI to GigE conversions, and edge configuration for on demand applications.
